UPDATED, May 8: Mass. Ave. retailer Coyote Impressions has decided to close after serving the Arlington community since 1994. A closing sale began May 7, and continues through June 30, when the store's lease ends. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The sale to close the family-owned business, at 721 Mass. Ave., Arlington Center, includes all merchandise, store fixtures and displays -- priced to sell quickly.

The owners will hold a customer-appreciation” drawing with a chance to win two tickets to a Red Sox game. 

"It was a very difficult decision for our family, especially considering the strong connection we have to our Community," co-owner Carol Pollack wrote in a news release. "Given the demands of being retailers for over 20 years and the challenges of having a family life outside the shop, we feel this is the right decision for us."

Coyote Impressions began when owners Carol and Robin Pollack left conventional jobs to take a year off to travel. While exploring the landscape on a trip to the Southwest, they developed a passion for Native American jewelry and crafts.

They decided to sell the treasures they discovered and named the business "Coyote Impressions" after their Southwestern inspiration.
For the first few years, they sold at crafts fairs, colleges, and any place they could set up a table with their wares. After developing a loyal customer following, Carol and Robin opened their gift shop in Arlington in 1994.

Over the years, the store’s merchandise grew to include beautiful artisan jewelry, international crafts, toys, and most recently, became the source for Arlington Spirit Wear and gifts.

Customers described the store as having "an eclectic, fun and interesting mix of products - something for every taste and personality."

Carol Pollack says: "The most rewarding aspect of our business has been building personal relationships with our customers. We have absolutely loved being part of this Community. Fortunately, we feel our relationships will endure even though we have decided to bring the shop itself to a close.
