Robert W. Lynch, the former principal at the Dallin School, died Sunday, July 14, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 64.

Lynch began as Dallin principal in September 1987 and remained there until his retirement in September 2004.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., on April 3, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Marie (Devine) Lynch.

Mr. Lynch had been a Wakefield resident for the past 25 years. He was a graduate of St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, Boston College and had received his master's degree from Salem State College.

He was the husband of the late Donna M. (Lennon) Lynch. Mr. Lynch is survived by his three sons; Matthew W. Lynch and his wife Holly of Holden, Christopher R. Lynch and his wife Lisa of Peabody and Brian P. Lynch of Wakefield, his brother Thomas Lynch of Weymouth, his sister Marie Regan of Brielle, N.J., and his two granddaughters, Adeline and Kaylee Lynch.

His funeral is scheduled for the McDonald Funeral HomeMcDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Thursday, July 18, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St., Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield, at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
