The Arlington Redevelopment Board (ARB) met at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 17, in-person only, in the Arlington Community Center's main hall, 27 Maple St. Two hearings are planned.

One concerns a request to demolish the existing two-family building and garage at 5-7 Belknap St. to construct a four-unit residential building in the R2 Residential District and the Neighborhood Multi-Family Housing Overlay District. The docket opening is for the board to review and possibly approve the proposal under Section 3.4, Environmental Design Review. However, the board is expected to then continue (postpone) the public hearing to a later date pending the state attorney general’s approval of changes to the zoning bylaws and map regarding the Multi-Family Housing Overlay Districts.

A separate public hearing is a proposal to renovate/expand an existing building at 61 Dudley St. in the Industrial District. The opening of the docket is to allow the board to review and possibly approve the project under Section 3.3, Special Permits, and Section 3.4, Environmental Design Review. Applicant will be provided 10 minutes for a presentation. Staff of the Department of Planning and Community Development are to be provided five minutes for an overview of their Public Hearing Memorandum. Members of the public will have time to comment.
