The Select Board at its March 13 meeting, unanimously approved funds received by the town’s Department of Health and Human Services.

The Department of Health and Human Services regularly receives funds from various entities to create and maintain programs in the following areas: health; Council on Aging; veterans' services; diversity, equity & inclusion; and the Arlington Youth Counseling Center.

Spending these funds requires Select Board acknowledgement, according to a memo to the board from Director of Health and Human Services Christine Bongiorno.

“This approval is to make sure the town is comfortable with these grants, which are primarily for operating transportation systems and emergencies,” said Town Counsel Doug Heim.
