Among 72 from town, officer to cycle Pan Mass 9th time

UPDATED, June 16: The following plea seeking support for the Pan Mass Challenge is from Officer Mike Hogan and K9s of the Arlington Police Department. He is among 72 Arlington residents participating in August, YourArlington partner Patch reports >>Officer Mike Hogan with Eiko

This August, I am proud to say, I will have the privilege of riding in the Pan Mass Challenge for the ninth time. This year I will be riding for my wife, Nancy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer eight years ago and received treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

I now know firsthand how important it is to raise money for Dana Farber, so its can continue its research for life-saving cancer treatments. I will also be riding for my sister-in-law Colleen Lombard, who also received treatment for breast cancer at Dana Farber.

During this ride and my training I will also be riding in honor of Catherine Malatesta, who lost her courageous battle with cancer and was a shining star in our community and her memory continues on through her scholarship fund . #cattitude!

I will also be riding for Patrick Doherty, who lost his courageous battle to cancer and my friend Lt. Dan Kelly (Kell's Crew), who is battling this horrible disease.

Aims to top $100K

Part of the PMC is the commitment to raise $4,800 -- to help fight cancer -- a devastating disease that, unfortunately, affects each of us at some point in our lives.

I would like to ask for a donation at this time to meet my fund-raising goal. I know that because of the pandemic, this is a difficult year for many people. Anything is greatly appreciated.

This year, there is a possibility that I could break the $100,000 mark of total fund-raising that I've raised for Dana Farber over my years doing the PMC. All thanks to you.

Please click on the link below to make an online donation.

Alternatively, you can send a check directly to me (address below) payable to PMC/Jimmy Fund. All of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to the Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute to help all of its patients with clinical care and cancer research.
