Whittemore Park's summer concert series began Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., with Backpocket, a Boston band playing a mix of blues, soul, funk and rock.

The next scheduled concert was supposed to  have been this evening, July 17. However according to Anne Thomson, associate director of the Chamber of Commerce, tonight's performance has been postponed due to inclement weather.

On July 24 the scheduled entertainment is 2-Mile Radius, an all-Arlington good-time classic rock and blues band. It's made up of Ryan Barrett (drums), Bill Jaeger (keyboards), Ben Moynihan (lead guitar), Andy Pockrose (bass) and Jeff Pyle (harmonica and rhythm guitar). The music features strong harmonies and instrumental jams.

The July 31 show is set to be the Soft Touch Dance Band, a classic big band with full horn and rhythm sections and vocalists specializing in swing-era music from the 1940s to the '60s plus Broadway hits and classic rock favorites.
